Below you'll find a chart showing each Foundation School with a score out of 100. This score represents an average Workload Score from the Training Navigator. The higher the score, the more satisfied the Foundation Trainees were with the workload at their Foundation School. See the Methodology below for more details.

What is the Training Navigator?

We’ve broken down the average Workload Scores for each Foundation School, from our Training Navigator, so that you can easily see which have the most and least manageable workloads on average.

😃  Which Foundation School have the most manageable workload?

The Foundation Schools rated by Trainees as having the most manageable workloads are LNR, Severn, South Yorkshire and Northern with scores of 59, 58, 57 and 57 respectively. Severn also scores quite high when it comes to Foundation Schools with the happiest Trainees, and you can read more about this here.

These 3 scores are between 7.3% to 11% higher than the national average Workload Score of 54 in 2021.

😡  Which Foundation School works its trainees the hardest?

The 3 Foundation Schools with the least manageable workload in 2021 were: Wessex, Northern Ireland and Wales with scores of 48, 48  and 49 respectively. With the exception of Northern Ireland, these Foundation Schools also feature close to the bottom of our scoring for Foundation Schools with the happiest Trainees.

These 3 are between 8.9% to 10.8% lower than the National Average.

Data and Methodology

The above data is based on an analysis of Workload Scores from the Training Navigator.

Workload Scores are calculated based on the feedback provided by trainees when asked about their workload and teamwork in the survey.

Only specialties that featured more than 12 rotations in the Training Navigator in 2021 were included in this analysis. Additionally, for a rotation to count and be included in our Training Navigator, they must have a minimum of 3 trainees who completed the GMC’s 2021 NTS.

The Training Navigator also provides a Learning Score (based on experience, clinical supervision, curriculum coverage and others) and a Satisfaction Score (based on overall satisfaction and support) for each rotation, plus and Overall Score that combines all of the above. Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
