Foundation Doctor's 2024 Guide to East Scotland
Scotland Foundation School is part of Scottish Medical Training. You can access our guides for the other regions of Scotland by clicking on the following links. North Scotland, South East Scotland, and West Scotland.
The East region of Scotland Foundation School covers Dundee & Perth. Dundee, a coastal town, has recently had a huge injection of art funding, including the new Victoria & Albert museum which is a must to visit!
Ninewells Hospital, part of Dundee University, is the major tertiary centre in the region, specialising in cancer (especially leukaemia), genetics, robotic surgery & psychosurgery. Laparoscopic surgery was first introduced at Ninewells! A dedicated paediatric hospital, Tayside Children’s Hospital, is a located on the Ninewells site too.
Scotland is one Foundation School but split into 4 separate regions: East, North, South East & West. Most of the spots available are in the West (around Glasgow) & South East (around Edinburgh).
